Unique structures like this teapot were popular along America's roadways in the 1920's and 1930's. This service station building was constructed in amused memory of the Teapot Dome Scandal during the administration of Warren G. Harding.

The Teapot Dome Service Station was built on State Highway 12 in 1922.

The frame of the building is wood, the handle is sheet metal, and the spout is concrete.

The service station is no longer in operation.

The structure is listed in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
