The Legislators of North Carolina. Legislators in both chambers serve two-year terms.
Starting with the 2002 election, each legislator represents a single-member House or Senatorial district; prior to 2002, some districts elected multiple legislators.

The building and furnishings cost $5.5 million, or $1.24 for each citizen of North Carolina. Construction required 10,500 cubic yards (8,000 m3) of concrete, 145,000 masonry blocks, and 192,000 square feet (17,800 m2) of terrazzo.
